20 Years in business
For the last 20 years UMOBA has dedicated itself to the sugar industry. Our name ‘UMOBA’ translating directly into ‘Sugarcane’, has been at the heart of what we have set out to achieve, by offering cane harvesting, haulage and loading services. We believe in sustainable and ethical farming practices, with our key objective of maximizing harvest yield and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Adapting to a dynamic environment
Our business has since evolved from offering simple cane loading services, to now providing our clientele with mechanical harvesting, haulage, land preparation and plant hire solutions, which cater to the sugar, forestry and construction industries.
What we do
UMOBA mechanically harvests and hauls 300 000 tons of green, whole trash or burnt sugar cane per annum for various customers in the Lowveld of Eswatini. Over the past 10 years UMOBA has successfully completed numerous land preparation projects totaling thousands of hectares.
Our newly renovated workshop allows us to undertake all repairs in-house. These repairs include engine rebuilds, hydraulic pump and motor repairs, as well as the manufacturing of hydraulic hoses. All general workshop work such as welding and tyre repairs are carried out in-house to keep costs down and availability up.
Plant hire
Our plant hire service delivers professional and reliable results, using renowned brands including DEZZI equipment, John Deere, Shantui, Powerstar and JCB. Our plant fleet includes bulldozers, excavators, graders, TLBs, tractors, rollers, trailers and various farming implements, with a dedicated technical team to guarantee your project runs smoothly. We offer free quotes on all your plant hire needs.
Land Preparation
Furthermore, we offer land preparation solutions, which we operate on the simple principle of; Fail to prepare, and prepare to fail. With this in mind, our approach to services focus on two primary objectives, preparing you to succeed. Objective one; sees that we effectively eradicate the previous crop and the removal of any unwanted objects. This forms the foundation of next season’s crop and is the backbone of a successful yield for a farmer. Objective two; focusses on preparing the seedbed, to ensure optimal germination. The seedbeds are created using our array of ploughs and harrows, by our skilled field operators and supervisors.
