Crop Spraying
Precision land preparation is a key element to ensure a successful yield, however, an often overlooked element in the land preparation process is accurate and efficient spraying of your crops.
The accurate application of pesticides and other chemicals necessary for your crops growth needs to be undertaken by state of the art machinery with a particular focus on precision employment.
The process
At UMOBA we employ the might of the John Deere 4730 sprayer, along with our strategic partners to provide 3 solutions to our customers. 1 - being apply only, where the farmer provides the chemicals required for their crop, and we simply apply this to the specified area. 2 - being apply and supply means we will supply all needed pesticides and chemicals required by the farmer and apply to your crop at up to 25 hectares an hour. Our 3rd and final offering of advise, supply and apply is our most comprehensive offering, where we give the farmer valuable insights based on their crop spraying needs and what we believe to be the best way forward for a particular crop, we supply all of the chemicals needed and then we apply. Options 2 and 3 are highly beneficial to the farmer, as storage and theft costs are greatly reduced, where option one allows a farmer who already has stock of chemicals to employ a highly skilled applicator to lay the foundation of a successful yield.
The benefits
The benefits of professional crop spraying and the use of high quality pesticides and herbicides include better food production, rise in profits and the prevention of crop based diseases affecting your triple bottom line. In the USA, it is estimated that 37% of crops are killed by agricultural pests, resulting in losses in excess of $120 billion a year. The most common pesticides, herbicides and insecticides are used to combat these excessive losses, in conjunction with precision land preparation practices to ensure optimal growth.
Professional crop spraying has also been attributed with helping curb disease in humans, with 7 million lives having been saved since 1945 from the eradication of disease carrying pests. Most notably, mosquitoes carrying malaria have been greatly reduced by the use of pesticides in crop production.
